DE Policy: Supporting Clients from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Backgrounds

Disability Enterprises recognises and acknowledges cultural diversity is made possible through the freedom of expression and the ability to express yourself in the languages of your choice.

Culture will be recognised as being valuable and unique, thus cultural traditions and beliefs must be treated with respect.

Clients at DE have the right to develop and maintain links with their cultural heritage, including their language, traditions, customs, beliefs, religion and spirituality.

In keeping with the wishes of each client, DE supports the client in this area of their individual development primarily via the Individual Support Planning process. In addition to this, DE promotes a service environment which supports and respects the cultural and linguistic diversity of its client, families and staff.
