Community Living
Our Community Living service includes homes throughout the Blue Mountains and Penrith. Disability Support Workers and Registered Nurses provide 24 hour care to clients who have complex physical and intellectual disabilities and fragile health.
Community Life
Our houses are in a variety of settings and clients are an integral part of the neighbourhood. These homes are equipped with the specialised equipment that a client might need and well trained staff assist clients in their daily lives and in their participation in the community
Everyday Life
Community activities, family barbeques, birthday celebrations, sensory experiences, social opportunities and exercise are all important aspects of the lives of our clients.
Healthy Life
Our staff are well supported in meeting the health needs of DE clients, by the DE Health Team, consisting of: a Clinical Nurse Consultant; a Physiotherapist; a Speech Pathologist; and an Endorsed Enrolled Nurse.
Family Life
A client's family receives priority at DE. Families are encouraged to play an important role in their family member's life and in assisting them in making decisions. The culture of a family, their spiritual preferences, their desire to be part of the everyday life of their person are always respected and staff keep in frequent contact with families and share stories, experiences and photos.
