Outcomes of the inquiry into the Program of Appliances for Disabled People: SMH Article

The inquiry into the Program of Appliances for Disabled People heard many clients suffered more injury and pain while waiting for equipment - even if it was deemed "high clinical priority" - and many had to rely on financial help from relatives.

Children outgrew equipment before it arrived and patients were stuck in hospital, or in a cycle of repeat visits because of complications, because equipment was either not available or was ill-suited, the inquiry heard.

Disability Enterprises Leura (DE) will be part of the celebrations when they present their 5th Annual Art Exhibition: Sensorial '09 - colour & collaboration, in an ongoing partnership with Katoomba Fine Art Gallery.
